Ghanaian comedian, Nathaniel Mensah, popularly known as Ajeezay has revealed how he helped fast-rising star, Mohammed Ismail Sherif Kwaku Frimpong known professionally as Black Sherif.
According to Ajeezay, a certain Jeff reached out to him on Instagram and introduced himself as Black Sherif’s cousin.
A guy called Jeff dm me on instagram and sent me a video of young boy freestyling and said i should check on this talent.
I watched the video and asked him whom the person was and Jeff told me the young boy is his cousin called Black Sherif so I should kindly post the video for him.
I remember it was a thursday so when i was about to sleep and I posted it. I woke up in the morning an to my surprise, the video was every where.
So many producers reached out to me to link the boy to them. Producers like Mix Master Gazy, DJ Breezy, Ephraim and so on wanted to produce him.
So Ponobiom called me to bring the boy to his house, so the next thing i did was, I quickly called Jeff and told him Pono want to see you guys so where are you, and he said he is based in Konongo in the Asanti Region.
So i instructed them to come to Accra first thing on Saturday morning. When they got to Accra, they called me and i directed them to adom fm because i had a show i was hosting then called
‘Adom Sokoo’. When they arrived, i spoke with Papa Bills and Black Sherif was allowed on my show, he was on f!re. So after the show, i took him to Pono and he recorded the freestyle sent to me, the title was cry for me.
The ‘Nonfa King’ speaking with Nana Kwame Sokratis on Adwuma Adwuma mid morning show on Obaatanpa Radio, he also mentioned that, the ‘Kwaku The Traveller’ had no official photos online so he took it upon himself and took Black Sherif to a photo shooting studio and shot a couple of nice official photos for him.
He then again told a graphic designer to do a cover art for him and also got some bloggers to circulate his photos and the cover art. The overwhelming part was when he said he did everything for Sherif without taking a penny.
Furtheremore, the ‘Jerusalem Soup’ hit crooner applauded Black Sherif for acknowledging him of what he has done for him, and that alone is enough for him because here in Ghana, it is difficult for someone to show gratefulness or acknowledge you for what you have done for them.
