The Chief Executive Officer ( CEO) of Lynx Entertainment, Mr Richie Mensah has emphatically disclosed that, he is no more part of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) board.
According to him, he has been on the board for just once in his lifetime and that was in the year, 2014.
He revealed that the management body of the VGMA board told him that, a member of the board should not have any form or kind of affiliation with any nominee or artists nominated.
‘‘Let me explain what I was told in the year that I was called to be part of the board. You are not allowed to be on the board, if you have an affiliation with any anyone who is nominated or is going to be nominated’’ – he stated.
He continued that, in the year 2013, his record label Lynx Entertainment did not release any artist and so in 2104, he was called to be a member of the VGMA board.
‘‘The years after, it has been Kwami Eugene and Kidi signed onto the label and since then, the board have not invited me again’’ – Richie Mensah concluded.
Richie Mensah doubles as the CEO of Lynx Entertainment and manager of Ghanaian artists, Kwami Eugene and the current reigning ‘‘ARTIST OF THE YEAR’’ Kidi.
The 23rd Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) night was held at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) in Accra.
