Social media users’ responses to the news that two Pizzaman employees were imprisoned for workplace theft were divided.
Seidu Karim and Rashid Abdullah, two employees, are accused of stealing two gallons of vegetable cooking oil and 20 boxes of chicken wings from the restaurant’s Kumasi, Ghana, warehouse.
After being found guilty, they were later given a 5-year prison term.
Following the court ruling, Christian Boakye Yiadom, the founder and CEO of one of the fastest-growing Ghanaian-owned fast food restaurants, came under fire from Abeiku Santana for imposing severe penalty on the underprivileged employees.
The radio host advised that instead of turning the suspects over to police authorities, the CEO might have looked into less harsh ways to handle the situation, like removing the cost of the stolen goods from the suspects’ salaries.
“Your employee robs you of 20 cartons of chicken wings, and you sentence them to five years in prison? What purpose does that serve? Poor employees swindle you, subtract the value of the stolen goods from their wages, but they were sentenced to five years in prison, Abeiku Santana blasted.

Reacting to Abeiku Santana’s submission that the young guys shouldn’t have been jailed hence the CE of Pizzaman is heartless – Bulldog vehemently chided Abeiku Santana for encouraging bad behaviour.
During their back-and-forth banter on UTV last night, Abeiku Santana revealed that he would have slapped Bulldog if he said such ‘rubbish’ on his show on live radio.
