The Director of Research at the Presidency, Dr Isaac Owusu Mensah has indicated that Ghanaians are more likely to entrust the country’s management to the current government, New Patriotic Party (NPP) again in the 2024 election.
In an interview on Angel FM’s Anopa Bofoɔ morning show with Kofi Adoma Nwanwani, Dr Isaac Owusu Mensah said though there are uncertainties due to the high cost of living, there is still a chance with respect to a research finding by himself and his team.
“Slim margin because we have been around the entire the country and collected the data. And per the data, you could see people complaining about hardship in the country, people complaining of too many taxes and others too complaining about other issues”. “…they admitted that their standards of living were difficult,” but, attributed the situation to the Russia invasion of Ukraine and not the government’s doing.”
Nonetheless, the chances of winning the elections are conditional thus, it depends on, “how the party runs its affairs, especially how they conduct their Presidential and Parliamentary primaries and how the losers will accept their defeats and come on board is what will make the slim work”.
