Owusu Bempah storms Kumawu to campaign for NPP in byelection

A Deputy Director of Communications of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ernest Owusu Bempah has stormed Kumawu in the Ashanti Region to campaign for NPP parliamentary candidate in the byelection.

He was accompanied by Andy Owusu aide to Ashanti Region Chairman of the NPP Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wutumi), Asawase Women’s organizer and Sekyere Women’s organizer

He received a rapturous welcome from the youth of Kumawu after visiting various drinking bars and ghettos in Kumawu, Oyoko and Besoro.

He later stormed the Kumawu community park to watch the finals football game organized by the parliamentary candidate.

The by-election to elect a new Member of Parliament (MP) for Kumawu Constituency in the Ashanti Region is slated for May 23, the Electoral Commission (EC) an­nounced.

It followed the death of the former MP of the area, Philip Basoah at the age of 53 at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital on March 27.
